The Mark of Healing Paragon Path expressively states in it's flavor text that it sees combating enemies that prey on the weak akin to performing surgery-it's bloody, messy, and completely necessary.

So, to do so, they know how to fight.

I'll fully admit I've not looked closely, but I'm underwhelmed with the player's guide. I don't like the that dragonmark's "deadend". I also think it shows just how restrictive 4e can be on _ideas_. Exactly why, for example, the house of healing powers need to be attacks that do damage is unclear--other than it's 4e and that's how it does things.

I think some game worlds play best in the original. I like 3.5 and 4e a lot, but Darksun really needs 2nd edition. And I think Ebberon needs 3rd. Or at least some game that's less about pure combat and balance...

I hated on Ebberon it first came out, I was too busy being in love with Iron Kingdoms by Privateer Press. However, they've decided they would not be migrating to 4E, now I'm looking at Ebberon once more. The new races it offers are pretty nice, who doesn't like the idea of playing a construct? At least they didn't bring back Reforged. A construct shouldn't be able to be better at being human than a HUMAN. Okay, I'm mostly happy they didn't bring back the silly picture that went with Reforged.

i definitely agree with your review, it's a solid introduction (though as a DM, i would have loved the campaign setting first).

one thing in mind though, is the 4e conversions for the last two books, dragons of eberron and stormreach. any word on when those are coming out on DDI?
